Contax G1 to Leica Screw

How would this work? How would you focus and frame?

It would be cool if it wasn't so expensive.

I guess you have to set the camera in "MF", then have it acquire the focus (which won't be accurate for close-ups), then you read the distance found by the camera AF on the green bargraph inside the viewfinder, then you report it on the lens focusing barrel, then you compose and shoot.

Meanwhile, your subject has moved away...

Some "I will hack everything" people can have very stupid ideas sometimes.

Maybe the distance scale in the viewfinder would still work? The focusing system is not TTL so I guess it might.

Yes, probably. But the interest of such a hack is still unclear for me if you compare this modified G1 with a Bessa R.

Unclear to me too. G lenses are plenty good enough. But people like to hack. And if it sells for that price it's a nice dividend.

...... or you could buy a Leica ......... M2 M3 M4 M6 ..... for similar money and give a thumb some work
