I am purchasing a very nice Contax IIIa with a Sonnar 50mm f2 lens; I can't wait! Does anyone have any recommendations which wideangle lenses I should consider (on a budget) and where I could find it in Canada? I just bought what my dealer had to offer

try a CV wide angle lens, Stephen's site is a good place to get them and buying from the US is not that big of a hassle.

If you are looking for real Contax/Zeiss, then you are going to have to frequent the used sites, e.g.
ebay,
Vintage Visual: http://vintagevisuals.com/
keh.com
http://www.ritzcam.com/catalog/index.php?category_id=200
You are somewhat limited to the 35mm and 21mm in real Zeiss lenses for your IIIa.
Happy hunting.

Is the 25mm Topogon frequently faked? http://www.cameraquest.com/zeisstop.htm

don't forget the uncoupled Zeiss Jena Tessar 28mm f/8 if you want a genuine Zeiss lens, or the CV S-C Skopar series (21, 25, 28, 35mm), and the russian Orion-15 28/6.
