Contax screen?

I've seen several Contax P&S (TVS, T3, etc.) on ebay advertising broken or bleeding LCD screens (film counter). Does this affect the functioning of the camera or do you simply lose the ability to know what picture you are on?

Bleeding LCD's are pretty common in contax's cameras. Doesn't impede functionality at all. Generally the bleeding is just at the edge of the LCD so in most cases you're still able to see what is displayed on the screen.

Though buying second hand, bleed free is always better if you get it for a good price. 😉

Yep, it happened to my T VS. I don't know if you can buy this replacement part.

I simply loaded and shot until the camera rewound.
