CONTAX T3 and ND filter

I am planning to get this camera. I however wanted to know if you can use ND filters for this camer? I know you have to use a hood but is the metering inside the lens? or is it outside of the body of the camera? Any leads or answers will be highly appreciated! Thank you!

Light meter is a window on the body and, therefore, does not account for light loss from a filter. Polarizer will cut the exposure according to the prevailing light characteristics, but nominally by 2 stops: this is just in range of the EV adjustment (a setting you can lock). Manual control of exposure would be helpful, but it's not a T3 feature. Besides the Contax 30.5 Adapter, you also need a polarizer of 30.5mm dia: I don't think Kyocera offered one, but B+W makes linear and circular versions. It's going to be special order. 🙂

30.5mm ND filters are fairly easy to find. I sold a couple through the classifieds here recently. But yeah, as the previous poster said on the T3 metering is not TTL so you have to use exposure compensation when using filters.

If the T3 allowed the DX reading to be ignored and the ISO to be set manually, like on the Klasse S/W, it would the perfect P&S film camera. But unfortunately it doesn't.

Oops, ND not polarizer. 🙂 ND makes the exposure compensation easy. If the EV exceeds 2, then the DX reader can be tricked with those adhesive DX labels.
