Contax T3, no sharp photos

never evaluate a lens on someone else's scanning, unless you know them personally.

I have a bit of skill scanning myself and I still evaluate on the negative with a loupe. Maybe if I had a properly high end scanner like a LS-9000 or an Imacon I would use scans, but definitely not my little Minolta (which I like well enough for what I paid for it).

let me show you some examples of how scanning can vary:

really scanning makes more difference than the lens when youre dealing with nice glass.

Good minilab scans from well-exposed Contax T3 shots:

Just got the film back from the pro lab (the icon). Besides them trying to screw me on the quality of scans (I paid for medium and they gave me the lowest), they came out good. The camera checks out just fine. After getting good results Im happy. Although I now respect my Ricoh GR1v even more. It never gives me red eye. Looks like Ill have to try the red eye mode on the T3. Also it seems like you have to be a lot more careful when holding the T3 also.

Im going to delete the previous photos above to get them off my photostream.

Good to know things worked out for you.

...Mike

Yessir. From me, too.

And, jeez — i would sooooo rather see FILM shots from a T3 than digital files from ANY camera. When you get it right, film has an impact.

I wish i hadn't had to sell the T3s i've enjoyed in my life. And, now the prices are just ridiculous.

Im gonna go back to the original place that developed my film and ask them to rescan the the film now that I know it was them.

Btw, is there no Contax T3 gallery thread?
