I think that the film was slightly underdeveloped (I didn't have my developing
times well callibrated some time ago), so contrast was lowered. However,
I've never felt that the 50/2.5 has low contrast, but neither too much.
I have both lenses, but I haven't used them enough with the same films to be sure. But so far I get the feeling that the 50 has a little less contrast.
The 50mm lens has very slightly less contrast than the 35mm
I carried out a comparison test a few years ago. The lighting conditions weren't great, but I think the difference can be seen. The results are here: http://www.empusa.co.uk/gallery/album01
I have a full set of Voigtlander Lenses (15,21,25,28,35,50 f2.5, 50f1.5, 50 f3.5, 85mm all in Nikon Rangefinder mount for my two Voigtlander R2s cameras. Not sure if they are the same in screw or leica mount?????I am in the process of testing and will let you know.
