Could you be happy with only a 35mm lens?

Always have a 90 mm lens with me but never use it. Life would be so simple with just my 35mm lens and body. Can it be done?😛

it could be done, but I don't buy into the purist hype of "one lens for life club."

I did for about 2 years. All I had was an M6 and a 35 summicron.. Ive since moved to 28/50 combo.. But it can be done.. If I couldent for some reason have the 28/50, I dont think I would have a problem going back to a 35 alone... But thats me, I usually dont keep stuff I dont use.

I would not choose to limit myself that much, but I could get by with one lens.
80% of what I do is "normal" lens, but I sure like having an ultrawide and a short tele around.

Except at the very beginning when I started photography and then only for a short time did I ever have only one lens, and I don't think I could be happy with only one now, regardless of its focal length.

Certainly it could be done. But I just don't know why anyone would do that - outside of that romantic notion that living with one lens is somehow a positive thing.

Of course it varies from photographer to photographer. But I love to shoot portraits - and there is just no way I could do what I want to do with only a 35. Or any other single lens for that matter.

Because some of us could do most of the photography that we want to do with just that lens. Do I have more lenses? Yes. Do I need them? Rarely.

Since I enjoy photography, I could live with only a 135mm lens if that was all I could get to use. But I sure wouldn't want to.

I gave up going out with more than one lens a long time a go. I find it much less stressful and a lot more productive. 80% of the time I go out with a 50, 15% with a 35. It just depends on what you set out to do. I have a 28 that I have only used once! But it was for a crowded social event five years ago (needed flash, too!). The results were very good. I have not used the 28 since, but I would not get rid of it.

Life is simple with only one lens and one body.....at a time.

I always need at least a 35mm lens to be happy, it's my favorite FL hands down. With that said, if that's all I had I know that every time I'd go out shooting all of my shots would only be possible with an 85/105... Murphy's law of the amateur gearhead.

I shoot primarily with a 35 When I shoot with an RF, but it is refreshing to change it up a little bit and pop on a 28 or a 50.

Yes.

I still use other lenses. But after travelling overseas and humping around a few different lenses and bodies, I realized I used my 35/2 for about 90% of my work.
It's just how I see and like to make photographs. If you feel the same then you'll probably have the same answer as me.

I like to carry a 24-28mm and a 50mm. Then I've got the XA2 or Contax T when I want to take a mid-range shot.
