Hi, I just finished rebuilding my site and I'd like to know what you think. It has taken me a long time because I couldn't decide what images to put in. After many trials I came up with a selection that I like a lot and that resumes my style rather clearly.

I tried to make it as simple as I could, I don't want to show too much as this will only be a teaser to show to prospective clients/editors.

What do you think of the pictures? Do you think that they follow each other well? What about the performance of the site, does it load correctly?

I'm really excited to start working again after a very long pause, even though looking for work is not the most interesting part of it, I feel just as nervous as when I started taking pictures for a living years ago.

Thanks for looking:

Home page opened for me, but seemed to be taking forever to go to your gallery page so I bailed. I liked the image on the homepage, though kinda smallish.

Building websites can be a big pain in the you know what. I'll check it again in a little while.
Who knows, could be your server having an issue.

I just checked the .mac website and it gave me this:

Some published HomePages are loading slowly, or not at all. All other .Mac services are unaffected.Last Updated: 4/25/2006

I'll update the thread when they fix this.

Thanks to all.

what is your experience so for working with the mac web program? Has it allowed you to do what you want so far or is it limiting? I am interesting in using mac to make a web page. Thanks

works now. great photographs, although I'm not so sure about the site design.

I have to agree. Especially the personal work. The photos are so interesting and kinda dark and mysterious, but the site seems a little sterile in design.

I loved the pictures, especially the ones in the "personal" section. I would say that the site layout and graphic design is average, nothing really amazing, but not bad. Took a while to load. Overall, I thought the side is good, especially the photos.

I agree completely with Wyenz and Pesphoto. The photographs are absolutely fascinating and testify to a profoundly independent vision (I also very much liked the Leonard Cohen quotes) - but the washed-out setting seems empty, diminishing, not framing the superb images. Some subtle colour might be called for. But none of this alters the quality of your work.

Best wishes, Ian

the site works well, I tried to send you an mail, if you receive that works as well! It is very simple, which is quite ununsual today and it can be a way to stay out from the crowd where everyone else is.
The photo of your personal work are really great ! bravo

i don't think the design should get in the way of the photos (and it doesn't). a stark white background works well for the subject matter. personally...i would like to see the photos larger though (the popup versions). also...i don't think other members' comments regarding the design are very helpful. constructive criticism is better than blunt declarations about the design not being good. it helps to weed out subjectivism.

Well, finally working!!! 🙂 Thanks for your comments. I used iweb to make the site, it's deceivingly simple to use, you can customize a lot of things without ever seeing a line of html. I'm sure there are more capable programs but for me is more than enough, the only downsides that I see are that you have to use the .mac service and that you can't duplicate templates so you have to start everytime from the ones that Apple provides.

I tried to make the site as simple as possible, I didn't want the design competing with the images but I admit it's a little sterile. What would you suggest to make it better?

Thanks again.
