CV 28-90 modifiable to 50-75?

I have a Voigtlander 28-90mm screw to M mount adapter, I was wondering if it was possible to take a file to it and turn it into a 50-75 adapter so I could use my 50 elmar on a auto frame M mount body. I dont really have any intention of buying a 90 or a 28mm screw mount lens so just a thought.

You should be able to do it as I did it to one of mine. File a little, clean part, put on camera to check, and repeat till you get it right.

The red mark shows the flange that brings up the frame lines. The required length for the flange for 50/75 is somewhere in between. Be careful when filing down; as you can see, the differences are really small. It's easy to overshoot.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately my geographic location makes it somewhat uneasy to get things shipped around. I am going to try the file, im pretty handy with them so I think i can get it to work.

I took a chance and using the nail file on my victorianox mini pocket knife I was able to file down the edge in about 10 minutes and it worked the charm. Of course I didnt try to stick the adapter on until a very good washing under the tap. Totally painless though and im happy I can use my Leitz Elmar on my Leica M6. The amount of material that needs to come off is shocking small. I filed about 1mm off and that was all that was needed. No half frames or anything.
