Pros and cons on use of the lens Hood. I have one but sometimes it gets in the way. Would shooting "hoodless" effect final result? Anybody with some experience one way or another?
i swapped the cv hood on the 40/1.4 for a cheap aftermarket one, from s&w in 43mm size.
the cv hood blocked the rf window a touch on the little cl where it lives.
the cv hood is now on the 50/2 planar which had been sharing the hood for/with the 35/2 biogon.
i have hoods on every lens. it makes me feel better, not so much for flare but as protection.
What is S&W?
I, too, am also parnoid to protect my lens, but I use B+W UV Filter (don't try to talk me out of it, I MUST have a filter) because they are hardcore, heavy.
