CV 40mm MC vs CV 40mm SC?

Why one over the other? What's the SC best for? And what is the MC best for?

Supposedly, the SC is better suited to black and white. This doesn't mean that the SC is not good for color though. I've seen gorgeous color images made with the SC. The MC should be more flare resistant (?).

.

I use the SC version for color all the time. Peope often ask how I achieve the colors I get. It's not me it's the SC lens.

I've never gone along with the marketing thing about SC for B&W and MC for color.

For me it's SC for the classic look, and MC for the twenty first century look.

My camera concept is basically fifty years old, so I want a lens concept about fifty years old to match it.

Well, I sure ran into some flare last week at my mother's memorial serivice with this shot of a couple of gals who haven't seen each other in decades.... with bright outside light from the back. This is the 40 Nokton SC with that old-time look. 🙂

So you own both?

I own the SC, and I researched it, as you are now, before I decided.
because you once told me you liked my photos, I will get the SC (already have the MC).As you can see I'm a cheap date. Complements will get you anything. 😛

Actually I honestly couldn't recall your photos when I red that. So I went to your site and enjoyed them again thoroughly. You and that SC lens are made for each other.
