CV 50/2.5 Skopar Lens Problem / Repair

Hello

I have a CV 50/2.5 Skopar that has a strange problem.

One side of the picture is softer than the other.

I realise the edges of the image using this lens wont be
tack sharp, but there is definately one side softer than the other.

Does any one know of good CV lens repair person in UK
or Europe ?

I even had an assisted look on the CV Japanese website, but
could not find any links for repairs.

looks like there is a misaligned lens, it happens some times alas .

To me it sounds like one lens in the lens is not perfectly in. So maybe it's kind of tilted, resulting in a result which is not as sharp on the one side as on the other...

Did you check the LTM-adapter? A slightly twisted one can also cause such a probelm. BTW that lens usually IS tack sharp corner-to-corner!

Tony, are you using it on a M mount camera? Occasionally you can get adapters that do not fit "square" on the camera and that would show up as "fuzzy" edge.
The 50f2.5 is certainly sharp enough across the field - even at f2.5.
It could also be a mis-aligned element or an element that has come loose.
Do you have any other LTM lenses. Do a trial run with one and see if the problem persists - in which case it is probably the adapter or, the worst case scenario - a bent mount on the camera.

I have been using it on a Bessar R , and Canon III
so no adapter needed.

So I think it must be the lens.

Any idea where to send it in Japan ?

How are you viewing your images? Negatives? Prints? Digital files?

If you are printing or scanning your images on your own, your enlarger could be misaligned, or the negatives are not being held flat while scanning. I am just taking a guess here until I know what you are viewing to determine your problem.

I had some DPE prints, and I have scanned
the negatives.

Originally I noticed it on my Rd1 camera
and even returned it, thinking the camera
had a problem.
But now realise it is the lens.
