CV 75/2.5 in M-mount?

Hi,

Does anyone know if Cosina is going all the way with replacing its LTM lenses with M-mount counterparts? I am specifically looking for a 75/2.5 Color-Heliar in M-mount.

I don't think so.

1) M lenses are less versatile because they mount on less cameras

2) Screw mount lenses allow easier DIYS bar coding for the M8

why? sorry, not being a smart arse, but i don't get it.
 
Because I don't like putting adapters and then mounting the lens. I have no extensive experience with them, however, I once had a Nokton 50 put the Leitz 50/2.8 adapter on it. There was a bit of space between the camera body and the lens (the camera wasn't in contact with the lens body). I was kind of dissapointed, because I was hoping for a better fit
 
Horosu, I used screw mount lenses with an M3 for 17 years. They had the adapters fitted, and for all practical purposes were M lenses.

You have to watch your adapters. Don't buy the cheepies off eBay as they may be too thick. Also, you may want to consider simply getting an adaper for each LTM lens. I don't (I have the adapter in-body), but it would make lens changes faster.

Rather silly to have the adapter on the body. All that screwing on and off, and no automatic frame-line changes available with the correct adapter.

I guess by the "gap" between body and lens you are referring to the fact that the lens barrel has a greater diameter than the adapter. That's, I guess, a normal phenomenon, given that all lenses are of different diameter there can't be a one-size-fits-all adapter. On the other hand I don't see it as particularly dramatic either. After all it's not the diameter of the adapter, but the thickness that counts, and the gap doesn't really harm anyone, it's just a cosmetic thing.

I think it's easier to have multiple adapters for the most frequently used lenses and keep the adapters on the lens. You get the advantage of faster lens changing and of automatic frameline selection, both nice to have.

Bessas don't have auto framelines and I don't changes lenses that much :)
