Damn, I lost my Leica Viewfinder Magnifier

[M like Leica M6]

These little gadgets are very helpful when focussing a beast like my Canon 2.0/100mm lens - and I lost that tiny thing, and I have no idea where...

Now I don't want to spend so much money again, street price in Europe is around 150 Euros for a used magnifier...

Though I hate those chinese guys that copy everything... how good are the cheap viewfinder magnifiers from Hong Kong? Is it worth spending 30-40 Euros for that?

Nope, never lost one of those, and probably yes, it may be worth spending 30 or 40 euros on a cheapy.

Sorry about your having lost the "good" one. It can be infuriating... because there's nobody to blame for.

Except, of course, Leica. Why do they make them so small! 😡

I bought one for my M6, it works great only $45.00us. Can't hurt to give it a try.

I have the Leica mag vf and they are pricey. In actual battle I always forget to bring it along. Try the cheaper one and resell if you are disappointed.

A used Leica one has just come my way, and I like what I see so far.

The "cheapie" magnifier from HK (see Ebay) is very good indeed.
I bought one for my M8 and it comes with a little leather case that snaps onto your neck strap very solidly. I'm sure that the Leica glass is much better, but the HK is at least as good as my glasses that I wear. No distortion at all, and it costs less than $100.
