Should I scratch?

Summar lens, 'clean optics, slightly cloudy' for £45 ???

That haze can be removed yes?

But but but on the 28th is the auction I'm in on with Screwy/FrankS that has the other Sonnar I wanted, in case it was unscratched and generally a better condition lens to the Sonnar on my Contax right now...

But ARGH that Leica glass itch needs scratching, the Jupiter-8 on the IIIc isn't 'right'. For a start it blocks half the viewfinder!!

Hmmm then again I'm meant to be saving for the £160 I need to get the IIIc serviced and rangefinder overhauled... but Summars at £45 aren't going to pop up too often ><

:bang:

Frank, don't worry I won't stitch anyone up, and I can afford both lenses, and some xmas presents for the family, but then I have no money left to pay back the overdraft and no money for the overhaul. 🙂

Oleg can't replace the Rangefinder though.. I'm a little scared about sending my cameras out of the country too. I'd prefer to pay a higher price and know that I can rip royal mail off up to £500 if they lose the camera

Ash ... if you want a Leica lens for the IIIc and would settle for a Summitar instead of a Summar I have one that is a little rough that you could have for the price of postage. Every bloody screwmount Leica I have ever bought has had a Summitar on it so I now have three of them and this particular one is the worst but still takes a fair image. The front element has the usual cleaning marks and some thing is strange with the aperture ... it doesn't line up properly but overall it's OK!

Yours if you want it! 🙂

More good karma all around! 🙂

'What goes around comes around' as they say Frank! I've had my share lately with the very nice M2 for $450.00 and tonight I was given 40 rolls of film by someone I'd just met. Passing my good fortune on to a young enthusiastic pup like our Ash ... is what I call 'practising random acts of kindness' 🙂

That is extremely nice of you, Keith.

The practising of Random Acts of Kindness is almost an RFF tradition, to my way of thinking. My first forum purchase - from Pherdinand - came in a box full of "you-might-like-this-and-this-and-this" extra's, (which kick-started GAS) (Thanks, Csaba!) 🙂 My second - from Jocko - arrived with a book about Chinese Cameras that continues to delight me, and that I liked even more than the camera. G'man suddenly sent me - for no clear reason other than what he called my "patience" - a lovely little Agfa Synchro Box.
Joe, of course, has a ZI that glows with RFF generosity, and there are further instances, many of which go unnoticed, and unsung.

It's what makes this place very special indeed.

I have many acts of kindness to repay. For example, other than a few little things, the Cosina CT-1, the Jupiter-12, now the new lens ((I haven't forgotten anything have I??)). I do try to keep the karma rolling though. Looks like I have many years ahead of me to repay 🙂

I've always thought myself a little selfish and with somewhat mixed fortune, so I've got a lot to learn guys, don't treat me too kind 🙂

Brian, you're another I owe a favour too for your kindness with that slide film (for a start!) thanks 🙂
