deals on film - post here!

I offered $4.75, they countered me at $5.88, I countered that at $5.00...have heard nothing since.....

Rich, did you ever hear anything from your $5/box offer? This is the second time I offered them $5/box and they accpeted.

And BTW, I was mistaken in my last post...it was not five more I ordered, it wasTEN more boxes I ordered. :D

That means I need to buy myself a new freezer. :bang:

I just made a $5 offer for each of two more boxes.
A Kodak Gold 24 exposure roll of film for about $0.55+ is a bargain.

My offer was again accepted. They reduce shipping by $4 or so, so the total for 40 rolls comes out to below $20. That's less than $0.50/roll.

Glad to hear you finally got through to them, Raid.

I just got the other 10 boxes today. And of course I come home and my wife had gone grocery shopping, so there is no more room in the freezer! :bang:

Raid, did they accept your $4/box offer?

I just ordered 5 more boxes! I guess I'll be shooting a lot of color this spring.

Here's a few shots taken last week of Milwaukee's token female bicycle messenger. I did mistakenly underexpose a bit, so they're probably grainier than need be. But the reds come through rather well, don't you think? :D

I noticed the graininess too on a test roll. I rated the second roll at 80 and it came out rather well.

I have a similar experience with cheap Fujipress 800. Rated at 200-400, the film comes out awesome. Rate at 800, the results look dirty and grainy. I suspect poor storage conditions.

looks like pretty good bike. like pro-level. I never tried tire brake before and I don't dare to do this in high traffic :D

1 dollar for every film looks as a pretty good deal :p

How long did it take you to hear back from the seller in the auction for that film?

I bought a case last night, sent him a question straight afterwards but I haven't heard anything...

I haven't attempted to communicate with him other than submitting my bids. I think each time I bid, it was only a few hours wait to see it was accepted. What else are you trying to find out?

That sickens me... I stocked up last year when they were reduced to £1.99/roll. That is a great price.

I've just ordered 10 packs
They have just-expired 160S 135-36 for £1.80 a roll as well (pack of 10)

Guess I'd better clear space in the freezer

Don't forget the Reala100 at £7.99 for 20 rolls. I have a lot of that in my freezer (540 rolls), it's fine.

I live in europe, and need to figure out shipping with him.
I didn't notice the "ships to: america" part before it was too late.
I'm pretty sure the $4 doesn't cover shipping to Norway.

Going to send him a new message now and see if he replies.

This is not realy an available deal, but I just got 13 rolls of expired Fuji Velvia 100 120 and 6 rolls of Agfa RSX 100 120 for 50$. They all expired in 2006 and 2007, and have been kept in fridge according to the seller.

Do I have to make adjustments to the exposure, or can I shoot at box speed?

Oh and is there a reason why I should not keep the film at subzero temperatures (freezer, probably around -4 C)? Would a regular fridge be better (+6 C i think)?

Ola, let me know how it works out: I asked them about shipping to .no too, but got no reply.

No idea on storage, but I recently shot some expired RSX100 - 4 years expired, not cold stored. Still sharp but tired - muted colours. Scanned nicely though so fine if you're not intending to project it.
