I went to Target this weekend and they had Kodak Max 400 pack of 4 (3 rolls of 24 exp and 1 roll of 36 exp) for $2.48. The expiration date is not till Feb. of 2009 so there's still plenty of life in them if you store them correctly. They also had single Fuji (100 something I forgot) rolls of 12 exp for 24 cents, expiration date is not till April of 2011. I already shot a roll of the Kodak and had it developed and printed, its good film for the price.

Thanks. Looks like Target is on the morning's to-do list. Does this mean perhaps that Target is "closing out" their film department?

from the looks of it yes...the film developing area at my store is bare, I think they're in the process of putting in new equipment for digital printing. I price scanned their stock of Fuji film and they were all regular price. Who knows maybe in a few months they'll be on clearance too.

Wow.Target will be my target then.

The Walgreens around here are all upgrading their printing equipment. They're still processing enough film so the girl looked relieved when I said "no hurry, I'll pick it up late tomorrow". There were dozens of processed rolls hanging and waiting to be printed.

the local walgreens here (San Rafael) always has at least 4-5 rolls hanging up too -- makes me glad, because for chromogenic b/w they are still the fastest/cheapest way to get developing and "contact sheet-quality" scans

$15 a roll of 36 Exposures sounds Terrible ! When I first read through your note, I thought you meant the 100 ft. roll ! :bang:

By the time I went to the local Target store today, they had no film on sale. In fact, the sales person told me she could not recall having any film on sale recently. Maybe the sales are not binding to all Target branches.

Raid, I think you are right, the Target stores in my
area told me the same story.
The store I visited
didn't even have any single rolls of anything, just a
few multi-packs of Fuji and very few Kodak. No
100 speed anything.

It depends on the location. Several Target stores in southern California still have consumer grade Kodak and Fuji film.

My local Woolworths (supermarket) looks like it's off-loading its last film stock. A box of 8 rolls of Fuji Superia Extra (400 asa) for $3.45 AUD.
I don't use this speed at all but I bought a box and am considering getting the remaining three boxes.

It's dated for sometime in 2010 but I'll get in trouble when they all appear in the fridge.

This may have already been mentioned, but Arista Premium at freestylephoto is a very good deal. Premium 400 is A LOT like Tri-x -- in fact, some believe that it IS rebranded Tri-X. If so, $1.99/roll would be an excellent deal. Premium 100 at $1.89 sounds like great del as well.
I shoot Premium 400 a lot these days, and develop them using the dev times for Tri-X.

That's a great price - under $0.45/roll!! My woolies had 3-packs of the same film for $12.95/$10.95 on special.
I will go have another look - they just renovated, installing people-less automagic checkouts (even takes cash and gives change, with a machine!). Perhaps there is a shelf somewhere with lines they are no longer selling.
