I was thinking of selling off my Sigma DP-1 now that I've got the Olympus Pen E-P1, after all it's hard to justify keeping it. Then today I took the Sigma out for a 'last hurrah' and came back with pictures like this one.

That's when I realised that I still love the way the DP-1's images look, and maybe I should keep it and use it from time to time after all.

You're used to the older camera and are comfortable with it. When you have used the new one enough, you will be comfortable with it too. Sorry, I must leave you exactly where you were. But really, I shouldn't apologise: you seem to be happy enough as you are.
Why should the photo remind me of Brighton?

Well, looking at your flickr stream, a first reason to keep it seems the lenses that you already have for it. The classic lenses look gorgeous on the ep-1. However, the images are flatter than the dp1 images. But i''ll be honest, I also own a dp1 and therefor are to be considered less objective?
succes with the decision, I sold also a companion to the dp1, but only to force myself to fully work with one tool and get less distracted.

Because it is Brighton!
To be exact, it's the freshly restored bandstand which this time last year looked like this.

I think you've misconstrued me misiekbunnik - it was the DP1 that I'd been planning to sell off, but using it again was making me change my mind.

The capabilities of the DP-1 are evident when viewing the original sized bandstand photo. I am currently learning how to use this tricky camera. If you have mastered it, then I would suggest that if you sell it now, you may have some regrets.

Crazy mix of architectural styles. There's a fancy description at the Pavilion, I think: or maybe it should be called a justification.

Haven't been Brighton in decades. Glad to see it spruced up.

Yes keep the DP1, it's a great camera and very underated. Also doesn't fetch much second hand so hardly worth selling. I also don't find the slower working pace a problem, in a funny sort of way it's refreshing.
