The first camera I ever used was my dad's Yashica rangefinder when I was 14. Today I own a Mamiya 645S, Nikon D300, and as of 4:00 this afternoon, a Voigtlander Bessa R. It is in excellent condition! Many people at work thought it was brand new. It came with a Color-Skopar 35mm 2.5 MC lens. I paid $380 for the setup. Was this a reasonable price? Did I pay too much? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

No, you didn't.

One question: what would you do if you had paid too much? I'm curious...

FWIW: my very first camera costed me a staggering amount: $431. For a manual focus Minolta SLR that sells usually for $250. I won't deny being a little annoyed at first, but then I decided to learn from the lesson and always shop first. Besides, I also decided to use the camera and learn it well. In the end, I sold the entire system I had for about $300.

Well, I'm not sure what I would have done. The camera store I purchased it at has a very good return policy, but I don't think I would have returned it. I would have probably let it bother me for a week and forgot about it. I asked because I have seen others post that they only paid $150-299 for similar setups. Anyway, I know I am going to enjoy this camera.

You got a good deal.

I bought my R2A for 260 shipped w/o a lense , I guess i got a good deal.
I read somewhere on here earlier , if what you bought looks great and works well when you get it , it was worth the price. So long as you didnt pay an astronomical amount for it , which you didnt.

I paid about $270.00 for mine with a Jupiter 8 lens. I think the lens on yours costs a lot more so it seems to me that you paid a fair price. If you go out and take great pictures with this setup you won't think about the price.

That's a good price.

Other people talk about 'friends price' from people they know, or buying from people who have no idea what they've got, or they just lie.

Also, you bought it from a proper camera store by the sound of it, so you have reassurance about a returns policy and buyer protection that you wouldn't get buying privately, so bound to add a little more but provide useful reassurance on a second-hand item.
