if i had the cash i would buy the rd-1 or even the new m8, but that thought is a moot point.

i enjoy some aspects of digital shooting.

but back to my original thought... i AM wondering if frank has a new buying plan and for that matter john neal is selling quite a bit of very nice kit too.

The M2's fun. I wanted to pick up a few of John N's bits, but I just shelled out for a D200 + 18-70mm, so until I can sell off my D50 kit, I'm a bit short on the cash.

Frank, what framelines would appear on an M2 with a 40mm? I'm looking for a 50/2 'cron but would otherwise prefer a 40mm. Jim

Jim, the 40 will pull up the 50 frame line on an M2. I understand that a light touch with a file can make the lens pull up the 35 frame line instead. There are several threads on Pnet that discuss that.

Jim, the 50mm frameline would normally come up, but if you want you can modify the lens so that it brings up the 35mm framelines. This is done with just a bit of filing. I will get around to doing that on my lens soon. On th eother hand, you can jsut toggle the frameline selector lever to go between the 50 and 35mm frames, or you could block the frameline selector to keep the 35mm frames showing.

Thanks' William and Frank. Seems like it would be easier to learn to compose within a 50mm area then to extend out beyond the 35mm lines? Or is the 5mm differance of 35/40 easier to learn to work with?
