Why get a Digilux-2? The Panasonic DMC-LC1 is the same camera, is cheaper, comes with more accessories that are extra cost on the Digilux and has the ergonomic grip.
The only thing missing is a red dot.
The Leica has a 3 year warranty, while the Panasonic was only 1 year. And, I don't know about now, but when I got my Digilux 2, Leica threw in a SF24D flash, which was worth a few hundred bucks by itself, also a free spare battery.

Sweet incentives. In Canada all you got was the camera if you bought the Digilux. The Panasonic was several hundred dollars cheaper and you got several accessories (filter, lens hood, possibly others) in the box.
