Digilux 2/Epson RD-1.....?

On scanners-I've become enamored of my Epson 4490 since I got used to it-if I had it to do over again, maybe the 4990 as I start playing with the idea of large format.

I thought about that too...for about a second or two.
I had a bucket of Nikkors sitting around so it made the choice of the dSLR easier ... got a Fuji + a Nikkor zoom for about the price of the Panasonic.

Why get a Digilux-2? The Panasonic DMC-LC1 is the same camera, is cheaper, comes with more accessories that are extra cost on the Digilux and has the ergonomic grip.
The only thing missing is a red dot.

The Leica has a 3 year warranty, while the Panasonic was only 1 year. And, I don't know about now, but when I got my Digilux 2, Leica threw in a SF24D flash, which was worth a few hundred bucks by itself, also a free spare battery.

Sweet incentives. In Canada all you got was the camera if you bought the Digilux. The Panasonic was several hundred dollars cheaper and you got several accessories (filter, lens hood, possibly others) in the box.

True. I got the warranty, the flash, and the red dot! 😉
