Diopter for Nikon Rangefinder

Diopters for Nikon M,S,S2,S3,S4,SP? I have only seen a picture of one, thats one, in Bob's book. Did they exist or were people with vision problems out of luck? If so which ones were available or did they not start being really available until the Nikon F?

I have two +0.5 diopters for my Nikon S2 cameras. Without them I cannot use the cameras. I bought them from Bob Rotoloni about ten years ago.
