I just received a new (to me) Bessa R3A, bought from another RFFer, and I am very happy with it. I was pleasantly surprised by the solidity of the camera. The lifesize finder really is remarkable, but as mentioned in the forums a few times the 40mm frameline is impossible to see with glasses, and the 50mm one is a bit of a challenge as well. Fortunately, it turns out that the cheap and easily findable round diopter lenses used on many Nikon SLR models, including F, F2, Nikkormat, FE and FM fit perfectly. I had a -2 diopter lens handy, and it allows me to see all the lines clearly without glasses. I was worried that effectively reducing the finder magnification this way would spoil the both-eyes-open feature of the 1:1 finder, but this does not seem to be the case.

With the addition of my trusty Canon 50 f1.4 lens, I now have a bargain basement "M7" which I don't have to be afraid to carry around.

Cheers,
Dez
