Do I sell the Hassey to buy the M4?!?!

I personally really dislike Hasselblad's so I'd vote for the M4, which feels better and doesn't look as smug.
That's funny! Which looks more smug, a Hassy or a Leica? I'd say Leica if you show the red dot, and Hassy if you use the waist level finder and smoke a pipe at the same time.

I'm with Will, show us some hassy picts Chris!

How can you be smug with a Hassey? You always bow your head down when using it.

:D

if you are using the Hassie, hang onto it; however, if you stop using it, the second 35mm body will help you, but only if you are shooting under time pressure.

I never shot a Hassy, blimey, I have never even held one before!

BUT: as my mother taught me: when in doubt, don't do it. That was part of a how-to-cross-a-street-course, but it applies in almost all decisionmaking.

So, by asking the question, you have answered it already, IMHO.

Since you asked, Here's Grandpa!

And one more.

I have rolls and rolls of Leica and Hassey that need to be scanned... I need a full month off just for that!

Ah... the square. Lovely. In my mind Leica and Hasselblad go together, they each do well what the other doesn't. I love the swirlies in the background of the picture of your grandfather Chris. That's better than bokey!

Nice pics, Chris, although I am quite surprised seeing the swirly bokeh :)
None of my pictures from the Hassey has that.

It's a funky old fruit tree behind him, maybe the randomness of the branches and all did it?

And thanks!!

Nice pics Chris - I think you did very well in deciding to keep the 'blad. I'm collecting a pair of extension tubes myself, tonight!

Hi Chris,

Nice shots. I find myself in the same boat, a Makina 67 fell into my hands and later a mint Mamiya 6 (thanks Ray). Now the 501CM/100CF/60mmCB sit on the shelf gathering dust.

Nah. Keep the Hassy. It already gives you the choice of the old style backs set to "1" through a window or the new style set just by turning the crank after aligning the arrow, black lenses, chrome lenses, T* or single coated lenses, a jillion focusing screens and styles of prisms, add on wind cranks, and so on. Then there's the high flash synch speed, all the noise so people will know that you're around, and best of all, the blackout until you wind on to the next frame. NO Leica has all that going for it!
