Do you still use a soft-release?

No. Tried one briefly, saw its advantage but worried about damaging the camera and I hate extras like this. Soft mode on the M9 is as good or better.
 
I don't with my M6, I've never felt the need, but I do with my X Pro1. A small convex jobbie really helps as I find the shutter release a little too recessed for my liking. I'd like to get one for my X100 but have wasted money on them before only to find they never fit properly...the same is nearly true with the X Pro but it fits well enough to do the job.
 
Yes, even on the new M I prefer to use one (concave). Just feels better and more responsive.

The missing thread to screw in a soft release button is one of the most annoying things on my other digital camera.
 
I use a soft release (convex) on my Leica film cameras when it starts getting dark and I feel like i need the "extra stop".....I have been shooting iso 100 film for the last couple of years and I usually use my 35mm 1.2 lens when it starts getting dark, that is usually when I pull out my soft release and put it on my camera.......as far as regular day to day shooting goes, I don't use them, but I usually have one in my pocket just in case......here are some examples that I shot on iso 100 film at a shutter speed of 15 or 8 at 1.2 on my lens.....I am very glad that I had my soft release with me.....

If anyone has one on either an XPro or X100 which is a nice tight fit...and doesn't come off every other day - please, please post where you got it from, I'd love to know 🙂
 
Yes, Tom A.'s classic softie, although sometimes the MM metering at the first pressure point doesn't engage which is annoying and the supposedly new ones for the MM do not fit my "early" MM from Oct last year.
Got a full refund from Tom, great service and responsiveness as always. Lots of exchange incl photos back and forth but we could not really figure out what dimensions are different for my specific MM body.
 
Similar experience. I tried one on my M6 (Abrahamson Mini) but I was always accidentally tripping the shutter with it on. I put it on my Xpro and like it much better there. Although it did require a tiny rubber o-ring to fill in the gap.

I also tried it on my MM, but I guess my Monochrom uses the new M style threading, so it wouldn't fit.
 
I use AR 1 for my Nikon RF's and convex ones for my other cameras. The AR 1 is nice, it gives a little extra height and stays on better.
 
Use one only with one of my Nikon F, without it most of the time I have the mirror slapping upward but the shutter doesn't open (not sure whether this is bug or design) and I need to push stronger the shutter button, usually too late to take the picture I saw. None with any other camera I use. It was not trivial for me to find the specially threaded soft release for Nikon F and F2.

I use one on my digital cameras (X-Pro1, X100), but not on my M6. The reason is simple: I have a bad habit of cocking the shutter immediately after a shot, and thus when I have a soft release on my M6 and I put it in my bag, I invariably end up triggering the shutter *in the bag*. I prefer to have 38 shots on a roll, not 37 (or fewer).
