The nazi-movment in Sweden is sadly growing. It´s election time here and the Nazi-party is running for seats in the Swedish parlament.
I have been spending the last year following the nazi marches with my camera. It´s an ongoing project.

Well documented Landberg, thank you. These people while not anyone we ever want to see anywhere sadly are feeling emboldened. I take comfort to see as you show here such a strong resistance to their march.

Excellent documentation. Show us more images if you have them. Sad to see such events actually happening in Sweden.

Thank you for posting these shots. They're a vivid reminder that bad people are throughout the world. The photos are scary, just as they should be.

Yes it’s scary to see this hate growing.

Well, one side wants to kill all jews, muslims, homosexuals and so on. The other side wants to stop them. I’m here to document (not take sides) but it’s hard not to see the differens between nazis and anti-nazis.

Dear moderators, if you believe the post was not appropriate, you better delete it completely rather than erase a part of it and leave the unfinished sentence which makes no sense at all...

I despise all kind of ultras on both sides of the spectrum and Nazis in particular, but here if we talk pictures, not ideology.
Oh, just looking at the photos i agree. I could not get to the area where the nazis fight the police. I’m always closest to the action so i got surrounded by the police along with the antifa. When the Swedish nazis fights the police they have armor, sheilds and helmets, they look like the riot police. I want to photograph them but the swedish police are very fast to close down areas when riots starts.

i’m always against violence. I don’t think that the lefties has the right to go out to war against nazis. And i hate when they attacks the police. I think that the police can take care of them selfs. In Sweden you have the right to say what you want but you can not wear symbols like the swastika or other nazi symbols. You can not as a group dress up like an army either. The nazis in Sweden always brakes this laws. So the police in Sweden are really good to make sure that when nazis applies for permission to speak in publik, they will speak far away from the public.

Does this thread need to be every comment ever on Facebook? Politics are **** right now. Everyone hates everyone. So just focus on the pictures!
we don’t have to agree in politics.

another interesting thread spiraling into a rabbit hole of hurt feelings and apologies
thank you for sharing, landberg. although i could have assumed that these occurrences happen in many other places, sweden was not somewhere i was expecting. it's good to have all this documented.

Interesting, The demonstrators look angry, yes. The whole orchestrated posing with flags things conjures up images of Nazi marches (the originals). Don't they for you? I don't usually see imagery like this in other contexts, but perhaps it's more common in other countries.
@Landberg, good job documenting this! Very interesting to discuss the different impressions these images leave for different people.

The arrow in all flags is an nazi symbol (in Sweden at least). Taken from Nordic mythology. This photos are from different occasions.
In Sweden when nazis shows up the protesters consists of 99.99% regualar Swedes saying no to nazism. 00.01% are antifa. This are the ones fighting that i do not defend. So maybe swedes just don’t want nazis walking on the streets.

This is what i see too. We never see antifa on the streets of Sweden (unless nazis are speaking). But we see nazis with their uniform and flags almost everyday in different citys. It’s a scary sight. At least for 99.9% of the people. All the other eight partys in our parlament condemns the nazi party and want to make laws that forbidds nazism (even the Swedish Democrats wants to forbidd them. Swedish Democrats, a party that was a nazi party in the early 90s. They are still a bit racist, but they are the 3d biggest party in sweden).

And I guess those anti-fascist girls and the old fella with the phone might frighten some types.

The photo of someone getting their eyes washed- what happened? Did the police use tear gas? If so, on who? Why?
I have a few friends from Sweden, living there now. All of them find the fascist nationalists despicable.

The police used tear gas on a group of people that felt threatening. They did not listen to the instructions given by the police. Instead of pulling weapons the police used small tear gas cans (like self defense cans). I was standing right next to the ones getting sprayed but the police gave me a heads up so i could turn around (they knew i was a photographer, not a protester).
