I believe you mean ", then". Makes a big difference here. We speakers of ESL need to help each other...
Sorry, ”then”. English is not my first language. Also I have a 2 months old toddler giving me no sleep

Just for clarification do they call themselves National Socialist Party or are they called NAZIs because they are extreme rightwingers?

Here in Portland, Oregon there are regular dustups between a group of right leaning has beens, wanna be's and look at me's called the Proud Boys and the Rose City Antifa. The Proud Boys like to dress up in military gear, display their open carry weapons and wave the flag while espousing First Amendment rights mostly just to agitate the Antifas. The Antifias like to show up, cover up and throw things until the police blast them with pepper spray and flash bangs grenades. Then both sides leave to tell stories about how great their day was and how wrong the other side is. Occasionally someone gets hurt but mostly it's theater of ideologies. Landbergs photos of the Nazis show a much more malevolent group determined to take a seat in government, actively suppress minority groups, hoping to change minds and accumulate power. It's too late to ignore these groups and hope they will crawl back under the rock they came from but hate never wins against hate. Hopefully the time for reason hasn't passed and it's bright light can be shown on both sides of a troubling trend.
That's pretty much what's happening here. All are free to practice their freedom of speech in Sweden. Of course regardless of the political agenda. Unfortunately some driven by hatred. This isn't the infamous party that's been gaining ground on their controversial opposition against the foreign immigration policy by the way. These are nazis.
No winners this day.

Please enjoy discussing the photos and how they were made, while avoiding partisan political commentary!![]()
Sorry, but my father was a WWII vet, I had family killed by Nazis and family killed in Russia by pogroms. Calling out Nazis and Nazi sympathizers is not partisan political commentary! It is one's duty as a human being. I suppose if someone posted photos of babies being bayoneted (another Nazi fave)-we would be instructed to limit commentary to f/stops and bokeh?
Good photos. Keep up the work documenting this. And to all Nazis, supporters--I have no use for you.
Cheers.

Well, one side wants to kill all jews, muslims, homosexuals and so on. The other side wants to stop them. I’m here to document (not take sides) but it’s hard not to see the differens between nazis and anti-nazis.
Keep up the good work. The difference is clear as night and day. Keep the camera on those Nazi cockroaches!

Landberg,
As one who had posts "cleansed" from this thread for their political statement, I would simply like to thank, and compliment you again for your efforts in taking and posting these images, as well, dealing with so much ensuing fall-out!

David - I agree with you. Calling out a murderous cult that killed millions is not a political statement--it is a moral duty.

Thank you! I will follow them for as long as I’m able. They want to take control over the public media!

My father also was in WWII and his division was liberated one of the camps. My son has been called several derogatory names for a Jew at political rallies here in Iowa and walking home from school in Northbrook Illinois.
I think photography plays a critical role in documenting the growth of intolerance everywhere. It used to be an very impartial pretty irrefutable voice of the truth. It's the best tool we have and I strongly suggest that every RFF member go and shoot these sort of events everywhere.
I'm hoping that it will get us back to civility with those who have different opinions.

I love this, well said Sir.
The basic problem of discussing poltical photographs is keeping the politics out of the discussion as much as possible.
Everyone has political views, whatever they are.
Too easily such politically charged discussions can result in personal or even racist attacks which can damage the RFF community.
Its not an easy thing to keep discussions on an even keel.

These are nice and I would like to see more, an ongoing thread would be great. It's always a very confusing feeling telling someone that you enjoy there photos of such hate and blatant ignorance but from a documentation standpoint it completely makes sense.
Also, to quote Dead Kennedys, Nazi punks ***** OFF!

It's interesting to me how indispensable words are to photojournalism. A photograph can certainly stand on its own as a photograph. But as a story-telling medium, its pretty meaningless without explanation.
