The Leica watches are nicely built and spec'ed, but somewhat unremarkable. They are in the middle-low end of the field, price wise.
I love good timepieces, have a particular thing for Longines and some older Omega watches. I have a couple of each. What I'd like to obtain at some point is the Omega Speed Master Professional "Moon Watch" ... the one certified by NASA for all Apollo missions. They're still making it, and it's not hideously expensive. But it's pricier than I want to afford right off the bat, so I'm waiting to see if a nice one surfaces.
Like most of our cameras and lenses, a fine watch is a luxury purchase (to me, anyway). So regardless what they might cost, if you want one and can afford it, have a ball. If you don't want one, eh? Why disparage someone else's pleasure?
