I see very different opinions on this on the net. What is the reality?
at f4, close distance, would there be a problem on my M6 with this elmar-c 90mm f4?

has any of you actually tested at the closest (1m?) distance to a subject at f4?
I guess m-rokkor 90mm would be the same as they are basically the same lens, right?

no real testing...rokkor has a different cam and is multi coated.

I don't recall shooting it that close, but I usually shoot the 40 Cron-C and 90 Elmar-C with any new body I get my hands on. I haven't encountered any focus issues with either, and the 90mm is quite sharp. It is one of my favorite travel lens as it's much lighter than any other 90mm out there with maybe an exception to the Tele-Elmarit.
One issue that is common with the two is that the filter ring threads are not the same with all other filters. The special collapsible rubber hood is also a filter retaining ring for series 5.5 (a Leica only size as far as I know). This also means a special lens cap as well.

i found an 5.5 to 39mm adapter on ebay from 'heavystar', comes with a lens shade...works great and solves the filter problem.
