I'd give it a hit with my 1a and I'd be fairly confident the camera would still work ... not so sure about that fragile little digicam though!

You're quite right indeed. But the Leica X1 is going to cost 2000 USD, that's a lot of money for a compact camera, it better give awesome output image qualities to justify this price...
