Does my iic have curtain holes? Please Help! Thanks!

Well, I'm kinda happy with the results I got from my iif. Even if the speeds are a bit slow, they don't bother me much. I figure, with the camera being so old... it'd be ridiculous for me to expect everything to be perfect.

What i'm looking for now is a new lens! I've got a chrome canon 50/1.8... but I'm finding it to be a bit too soft wide open (actually... soft till about f5.6) and lacking in contrast. Plus, it's a heavy lens.

I've had my eyes on a Summitar for a while, but I want to move the Canon 50/1.8 first. How much do you reckon a Chrome 50/1.8 in a decent condition (small scratch on front element, all else is working fine, looks good, no dust or fungi inside) would go for? How much would a Summitar run me?

I was thinking I'd get an industar 22 or maybe industar 61 until I have enough for a summitar.

Chrome Canon 50/1.8 about $120 in respectable condition

Summitar about $170-$270 depending on condition and if it's coated or not (they are increasing in value as is all Leica now)

The Industars are good for the money, but many have defects.

The slow speed mechanism is separate from the high speed mechanism, so if you avoid slow speeds or calibrate them you will be fine ti you can fix things.

Are you sure the focus is right? Or do you have any examples? I thought the Canons were suppose to be pretty sharp?

cool, I bought mine for around $160 on KEH... $120 sounds decent though. I've been seeing summitars in the high $300-$400 range... which sucks. I can't afford that right now.

I just don't find the Canon 50/1.8's bokeh to be pleasing, even wide open. Wide open, it lacks a little contrast. They images come out soft... but not a pleasing kind of soft. I checked the focus with my Nikon D7000 and a 85/1.8, it seems accurate enough. Here are a few photos, but they've been edited for more (much more) contrast and sharpness in Lightroom:
