Or are the changes about tuning up what's already there?
If I buy an X100 will I wish I saved for the X100S?

Greg, first class. "Photography is not like auto-racing." That could be on the banner of the home page here. I still love and use the X100.
Just about the only thing that the x100 will do better will be totally silent shutter operations.
I think all the other things will be improved or new to the 100s.
There are situations where the silent shutter has been the only way I could get shots, so I may just wind up owning both (shameful but true).
I'm behind in the news of this camera. Is the shutter loud(er) in the new version ?

+1If you can get a good used X100 for say $650, buy it. Use it until the X100s comes down to say $800 new (?) or $650 used (?) and trade "up".
That's the path I am on and it works for me
Mirriam-Webster:
Definition of OBSOLETE
a : no longer in use or no longer useful <an obsolete word>
b : of a kind or style no longer current : old-fashioned <an obsolete technology>
So, I'd say the answer is no. It's certainly still in use and useful, and it's not a 'style.'
