domke f5xb

I have a Domke f-5xb and normally carry an M7 with the following CV lenses 28/3.5, 35/2.5, 50/2.5, 90/3.5, about 4 films, a small pouch with spare batteries, and one 39mm filter, a notebook, pen and micro-mag-lite. When pushed, I can squeeze in the 35/1.2 Nokton as well. I carry two of the three small lenses back-to-back on a pair of rear caps that I glued and taped together. Works for me!

A number of dealers have been selling the Tamron/Domke F5XB for around $30 recently.
But if you want it in a color other than black you will have to spend more for the original Domke version.

Wow, this price looks too good to be true. Can anyone vouch for Samy's on this?

i know samys and shop there in Hollywood whenever I'm in town. Sounds too low ? I think I paid $50 for mine elsewhere...

the only bags I'd consider buying are Domkes. Not expensive and well made. And they look Cool too.

Domkes are for working photographers.

I like the F5xb, and use i with my R-D1 and lens and one extra lens. Sometimes I squeeze a small flash or an XA into one of the sections, but it's pretty snug when that happens. I have the Safrotto 803 imitation, as well, and it's much roomier. Get em both.

My early post was that i didnt know what bag to go for, well i opted for the f6 and it arrived today from an Canadian seller on the bay can you believe $45 with a two compartment insert to go with the four compartment inside and $20 postage. And wow what a bag its like Dr Whos Tardis small on the outside and large on the inside, plenty room for two bodys and several lenses and filters film ect.Its super cool.

Question about the F5XB, am I the only one whos velcro doesn't match up?

You know, the fuzzy stuff with the stuff it sticks to.

Yup, just got my olive F-6 a few weeks ago and I agree completely. Unlike my J-803, it doesn't fall over when set down, and unlike my F-2, it doesn't tempt me to load up 30 pounds' worth of gear. The F-2 is probably better all around for my SLR gear, but the shorter F-6 works a lot better for smaller rangefinder bodies and lenses.

Domkes make awesome diaper bags, too!

So what inserts do folks usually use with the F2 if wanting to carry two or three rangefinders with lenses attached? I'm not sure I like the default layout of the F2, but it sounds like this is adjustable....
