Well, I can definitely attest to the ruggedness and durability of my X Pro 1. I've had mine a little over three months and although I'm not prone to this, I've now dropped it twice. First time, as I was bending over, it slipped off of my shoulder onto concrete at a distance of about 1 meter. Last night, while walking and juggling too many things in my hands, I tried to slip it over my head. Down it comes, hitting concrete once again, from about 1.5 meters. It bounced. Both impacts left a nasty little scrape on opposite corners on the bottom plate, but no dents, no cracks and no functionality damage! The front of the 35 lens hood did take on a few little nicks. So, lesson learned, I'm ditching the slippery factory strap and replacing it with one of the standard Leica 14 312 straps. Used those for years and they always stayed put on my shoulder. Thinking about a half case, too.

U are one lucky soul... Two drops to concrete and the camera still works. Time for a try at lotto. 🙂

It's been a very long time since I have used Leica gear, are u talking about the shoulder strap that had the rubber grip pad at the top over the leather?

get a long lance strap and put it over your shoulder.

Yes, feeling very fortunate! :angel: But I thank the fine engineers at Fuji for designing and manufacturing such a durable camera!
The Leica strap I've been using since the mid Eighties is their part # 14 312, and usually comes packed with new M bodies. Very neat and secure connection design with no loose strap ends flopping about. A hard rubber pad covers snugly the connecting rings at the camera to protect the camera finish. The length is always perfect for me. Plain nylon webbing with a very grippy moulded rubber pad on the shoulder. The bottom side is covered with little rubber points, each about the size of a ball point pen. I've always found them to be very durable and comfortable, yet it grips my shoulder and never slips. Best of all, their actually very reasonable at about $35US new.
