Hello all
I have been lusting for a DR for a while now. The current bodies I use seem to not offer compatibility with that lens and possibly not with a Rigid 50 of the same era. I have not tried either but this seems to be what I am reading online. I use an M8, RD1, ZI and Bessa R2. Three questions for the more Leica literate. I have been more a Zeissy and have little Leica vernacular in terms of the different versions. I know I love the images the DR captures and would like to have that signature available in my kit.

1. Which if any of the bodies I use is compatable with the Rigid 50MM?

2. Which version of the Rigid should I go for if I have a compatible body currently?

3. If no compatible body in my current kit. Which Leica M would be best matched with the DR ? Affordability is a major factor as this would be a one lens body. A metered body is preferred but not crucial.

Thanks for your valued input. 🙂

All of those bodies should be compatible with the Rigid 'cron (I use a Rigid on my R-D1, which is a great pairing in B&W).

I don't know if there are issues with the DR 'cron.

The DR 50 is not compatible with the Bessa R2 (and RD-1 i presume), according to Stephen Gandy on Cameraquest. I use my DR on the Leica M2, M3, M4, M5, MP and M7, also on the CL, without any problem. Instead, is not good for my Bessa R2.
Instead, the Rigid is full compatible.
Ciao.
