Been searching high and low, but does the 50mm DR summicron's eyes fit a M4-P?
Much appreciated.

It should fit any M body. Just a reminder, though, that the area covered by the D.R. Summicron with the eyes in place, at minimum focus distance is the same as the area covered by your 90mm lens at its closest distance ~ No eyes, No fuss, No bother!.

It fits.
If you have never done it start by setting the lens to infinity.

tks for the confirmation.
that's one thing settled.
btw is US$580 a decent price for a minty DR with eyes?
Im quite keen on it as it doesnt have the dreaded fog and scratches.
for the same amount i could get a canadian black summicron-m with light scratches.
these variations are driving me nuts...

Dear Al,
It will not fit the M8, and I have heard it does not fit some of the other later M Film Cameras.
I chased down the data for months, asking several folks, but no one seemed to know for sure.
The M8 manual said it did not work with the "close focus" lens, but I had always referred to mine as the D.R. and after I found they only made one close focus lens, I realized they were referring to the same lens.
I think Roger's article in Shutterbug reported he used it in his M8 test (couple of years back), but I did not want to slap mine on the M8 (actually read the instruction book;-) ) and break something, so I asked a number of people who told me about the problem with some late M's.
I never used mine on my M6 or M7, and when I tried, it would not mount on the M8, unless I am doing something wrong, and as you pointed out, the 90 can be used for a similar effect.
Regards, John

You might want to check with Igor at www.IgorCamera.com, though he is in Seattle at the meeting this weekend, and I am not sure he has access to a computer. I do not recall what I paid for mine, but I think it arrived on an M2 body in a deal with a couple of lenses.
At one or two of the shows in the last year, I have seen a DR on his table.
As always, check the classifieds here as well.
Regards, John
