You should pay attention to the difference in minimal focus between the two.
IIRC, older cron are limited to 1m newer ones go to 0.7.

My sentimental favourite is without doubt the DR summi. It is built so superbly. They just don't make lenses like that any more.

(AKA: They just dont make nostalgia like they used to!!!!)

Fortunately my wife does..

Anyway, this is all so pompus. For reasons that I won't go into, it took me a long time and a lot of work to have a decent command of the English language. Now, I just find it a little annoying when people who have might have it so easily, and want people to respect their questions can't be bothered.

That's all. I'm sorry if I got a bit carried away, and ended up acting like a bit of tool.

Also, I take back what I said about the DR. It really is a lovely lens.

I don't take back what I said about Churchill.

well i received the black, (no 50) on lens
# 233... from keh.

i'll run some film through it.
i have the option for a exchange.
the only other on was the dr i was considering.
i'm assumine either will do.
i have to say though the build of the dr
has a got a hold on me.

It is true that the internet and other modern technology is having an effect on the way in which we speak and write the English language. The truth is that the language and its usage has only been codified for a relatively short period in its existence (probably starting with the King James Bible in the 17th Century - no doubt someone will correct me if I have that wrong😉) The point is that the language is and always has been a fluid, dynamic, evolutionary representation of communication, it both creates and reflects the culture(s) it is intrinsically part of, as well as those it is not.

I understand your feelings about lax use of English and appropriate punctuation, I am dyslexic and cannot always spell the simplest of words, or more accurately and to the point, can't see when I have spelt them incorrectly 🙂 Here the internet represents a freedom of sorts, from memories of school teachers who think you are thick because you can't spell 'swan' but can remember how to spell 'antidisestablishmentarianism' and for the wonder of spell checkers. Unfortunately they don't do grammar and punctuation quite as well!

My German comments were, of course, tongue-in-cheek😀. Churchill was a man of and for his time, an individual of great strengths and many weaknesses, I wouldn't have said he was a fool though, but would genuinely be interested to know why you think he was...history always judges the victor as 'good' and the loser as 'bad' and life just ain't that black and white....

The original quote, according to what I've read, was attributed to Winston Churchill, but that attribution has been disputed. Supposedly he (or whomever) said it in reply to somebody telling him that he'd ended a sentance with a preposition. Arrant has a different meaning, but might work just as well in the saying.

As for myself, I think that "errant" has the smoother bokeh, lending a more interesting signature to the sound. I suspect that it might be a generational thing ~ Webster's Unabridged vs. Wikipedia. Or perhaps it's a matter of the divergance from classic Standard British English by the Colonials and their not quite Standard North American Anglic. While you good folk ponder that I'm going to check if Raid has tested any new optics.
 
I wish others would stop hijacking this grammar, personal abuse and the qualities of Churchill thread with their errant nonsense about lenses.

I've been thinking of getting rid of my DR (note the caps) in favor of the Rigid just because of the weight difference. Thoughts?
