Dreams. Buying gear is always related to dreams of specific situations and ways in which I will use it.
The milieus in which I photograph are also infused with dreams, some individual, some collective.
Even though I am 50, I still have an enormous passion for dreaming and working for the realization of dreams, in the sense of meaningful transformation. What has changed compared to the past is that I now also have a much much greater appreciation for the present, in all its imperfections, and the ability to experience it without any dreams.

I take more risks now, than when I was young. Mentally, I do- not physically.
I learned early on not to depend on dreams. They will usually let you down.
Memories are all we have, in the end. And the end is always just around the corner.
Many years ago, as a young man, I found myself living on the streets and producing what I thought was my best work. All of those negatives were lost in a fire where I had them stored at a friend's house.
Life moves on and I now think I am producing the best work I have ever done. But who knows?
We are only here for one tour. Never grow old.
