I've just aquired the cosmicar/pentax 25mm 1.4 lens to use on my E-P2 and am very pleased with the look of the images. Is there any way of activating the MF assist using this lens or is that just something that I'll need to do without?

No, you can activate magnification manually, that's all you get.

With manual focus lenses, the only way it can be done is manually. First, you must select the display setting with the green focus patch using the bottom most button marked info. To activate the MF assist, all you do is press the OK button. Press the OK button again to de-activate the MF assist and take your picture. That's what I do on my E-P2 when using my M lenses.

Just want to make sure: by "MF assist" you mean magnification of the focus patch, not something else. Right?

It works quite well if you visualize where the focus point will be in the final image. You can use the direction pad to place the the green box anywhere in the frame, then hit the "magnifying glass" button to get a 7x magnified view of that area. I actually find it much easier than trying to use manual focus lenses on most DSLRs. And getting image stabilization with fast manual focus lenses is a treat.

Another thanks from me, Adrian. Didn't know about this function.
