Now I wish I went in and got the tripod. I was fully zoomed, 1/250 at f8 for most of the shots and I could not get the red image at a shutter speed I could hold.
I'm near to London. Got up at 0330 for the full eclipse at 0347. My wife and I watched the moon with x8 binoculars in a clear, cloudless sky fairly low in the west change to a dull, rusty red then, at around 0410, the moon's righthand side gradually began returning to its normal bright white.
Sitting on our patio it was pretty spectacular and magical.
Here in Seattle the weather was good enough for viewing but the light polution is what it is.
Anyway, We all could see it very well.
Of all the Lunar eclipses I have stood outside waiting for this was the most pleasant and successful.
there was a super moon lunar eclipse on January 31st that could be seen well here in Saigon.
Not sure of others I see really had been that red, I'd say the colors in my photo are quite similar to what the free eye saw, not really though, the bright part of the moon, with free eye, just all is "blown highlight" 😉
