From my experience with the Yashica Electro 35 GSN:
1) Check for the Yashicaguy website, you will find a lot of technical and practical information there
2)Batteries: You have to choose either an adaptor or a less expensive solution http://public.fotki.com/BlueWind/yashica/yashica2.html
3) Film: I use mostly black & white film, from 50 to 200 ISO. I recommend sticking to one film speed (B&W or colour) for the first rolls until you understand what you can get from the camera - and you can get a lot, it is a fine camera.
Not much more to say, the rest is up to you. With batteries & film, eyes & brain, you have all for making nice pictures.

Well-known
Today the Postman brought my first Yashica. It' an Electro 35 GSN and it's my first RF too. In the last days I read a lot of Sites in the Inet, like
http://www.yashica-guy.com/ http://mattdentonphoto.com/cameras/yashica_gsn.html http://www.erikfiss.com/foto/cams/electro35/index.html
and I got me the manual here
http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/instructionmanuals.html
I also bought me a Batteryadapter at ebay and checked the Camera for known Mistakes. And I think mine is in a pretty good Condition. I only cleaned and lined up the ASA Setting Wheel, then I loaded it with a cheap Discounter Fuji 200 ASA Film. Now I'm gonna go out, take some Shots and practice the Handling of the GSN. And when I shot some Rolls and I know the Camera better I'll load it with some nice BW400CN.
