Hi, just got my first Yashica - a 35 GSN.
Can someone please tell me if the rewind lever is supposed to be spring loaded? Mine just 'flops around'!
If it is supposed to be spring loaded, how do I fix it?
Thanks.

The lever arm itself is snapped in and out of position by a piece of spring metal.
If your arm is 'floppy' then the the spring metal is missing.
It could be that the rewind knob was removed at sometime as this is the only way to remove the metal piece. The rewind knob has to come off to remove the top housing for doing certain repair work on Electros. The piece can be lost, mostly by inexperienced repairers / novices.
Suggest you try and make one or better still buy on old banger of an Electro for the parts - also this will give you additional spares.

Thanks Peter - I'll think I'll have a go at repairing it myself.

The lever of my GSN flopps around too. I fixed it with a little stripe of clear Tape (Tesafilm) on the Top. I know, not original, but it works fine.

Well I managed to get the rewind lever off and discovered the spring was still there but was upside down! Turned it over, reassembled and now as good as new (well as good as for a 30'odd year old camera!).
I love this camera!
Just waiting for my first film to be developed. Hope I'm not too disappointed.
