I am looking for a good repair technician for Electro 35s. I am in Australia but would be willing to send overseas if need be. My mint GSN has lost the gentle 'click' sound and has now developed a heavy 'clunk' instead. The POD is on the way out.
If any one can supply a name that would be great - an e-mail address would also be of benefit.
Regards
Peter

I just got back a GSN and a GT; haven't run a roll through them yet but they look and sound great. He also installed new leathers.

Thank you to all who have replied.
I get paranoid about this camera as it belonged to my late father.
I will use it until it drops...then I will repair it and use it again!
Nathan, thanks for the Google tip.

Archivist, try Photograpic & Instument Repairs (02) 95672893. They are in Rockdale, a southern suburb of Sydney. Peter is a former Leica tech, he has repaired a few cameras for me over the years, most recently my M3. when I showed him the pics from my GSN, he pulled out a Black GT that he is rebuilding. Excellent work at a resenable price.

Dfin,
Thank you for the reply.
I used to live not far from Rockdale.
Most of my concerns have been answered in this and another thread I posted.
It would appear that I have been over concerned about nothing.
I will keep the phn. number for the future.

Peter, as you've heard here, the clunk is indeed a good thing. If a time should come that you do not hear it when you cock the camera, your exposures will likely be off and the yellow light will often stay lit all through long exposures. At that point, have a repairman replace the meter reset pad, (AKA pad of death). Otherwise, use and enjoy!
Best regards,
Dean Williams
