Just a few more images of the EOS M2:
Front view: the shutter release sits at more of an angle than the original M, and the grip strip is thinner, but longer and sticks out further.
Rear view: nearly identical to the M, however, the thumb rest has a different texture and the thumb rest curve on the M2 sweeps away from the thumb as it goes lower, the original M's thumb rest curve sweeps towards your thumb as it lowers. Meaning in my opinion, the thumb rest on the M2 is less grippy than the M...
Top view: yes, there is an additional stop in the mode dial, and the addition of a wi-fi indicator. The M2 body is noticeably thinner than the M, but the lens mount protrudes out more...

When are you getting it? If you haven't picked one up before I think you will find the build quality quite surprising. It's so solid.
I tend to think Canon had no idea what market segment they were targeting when they designed it.

it's in the mail...tracking is pretty lame, it has had the same info for 3 days now! i hope for a delivery next week some time.
i did play with one when they first went on sale here and liked what i saw/felt...but i really didn't need one...now i want a quality camera to carry when i leave the fujis home.

My biggest surprise was build quality. The body shell is metal and very solid. You feel like you’re holding something substantial in your hands, not a plastic toy. It also helps that it takes good pics.

Me too. The images do have an overly sharp, HDR quality to them that I find pretty unattractive. Very much everything I don't like about digital.
But it is quite sharp if that floats your boat.

Can't help it but a lot of the colour images have a "hdr" look to me.

Are you using RAW? I never tried the eos m.
However, The Canon raw files from 5D, 5D2, and 40D seem quite natural as a starting point.
Never used any ooc jpegs.

Just going by what I see here so it might be a case of over sharpening for web but it seems common to a variety of different people's shots.
I've seen a lot of 5D stuff that looks really nice to me. Personally I love the look of stuff straight out of an M9. Buying a digital is sorta like choosing your film at the time of purchase and being stuck with it for the life of the camera.

These rave reviews and attractive price has convinced me to get eos m. I'll put my 6d and EF lenses on the market next week, and get the eos m. I barely used my 6d because I enjoy analog camera more. I think this little camera will be my perfect walk around partner with my m3.

just left ebay...window shopping some straps for the m...didn't realize that canon made some very nice leather straps with the special end clasp for the m...but so expensive! cheapest wrist strap was about 40 bucks!
saw a beautiful third party leather case and strap for about half of what i paid for the camera & body...
i should learn how to work with leather...lol!

I don't know if those were ever sold in North America. Only ever seen them sold by Asian sellers on ebay. I've been tempted to buy the wrist strap and/or half case a few times but decided it was extravagant.

for now i am still perplexed as to how i will carry the m.
i might even try the oem strap...

same settings for each shot?
first one looks more neutral, second is very bright.
