Hi Joe,
Very good so far. It's a nice camera to walk around with - it's very light and compact, and the other lenses can easily be carried in a jacket pocket. I'm used to carrying around Leica rangefinders or Canon/ Nikon SLRs - mostly in pairs - so this is quite a departure.
The lack of a viewfinder keeps tripping me up - just out of habit, because of the type of cameras I normally use. However, aside from very bright conditions outdoors, which makes judging the use of a polarising filter very difficult, I think I could get used to this alternative method. Nevertheless, one of these with a viewfinder would be very nice: Canon M3 anyone?
The touch screen interface - and the overall lack of dedicated controls - I was unsure of initially. However, again I think this is something that I can adapt to. In fact, I like the 'touch to shoot' function - it's very intuitive, when compared to a DSLR with the more involved selection of a focus point.
I think - as odd as it might sound - that using it as a mini view camera would be quite interesting. The sensor seems very capable, and if you could get around the visibility of the screen in bright conditions, it might be an interesting way to capture landscapes.
Finally, I'm looking forward to trying out my other EOS lenses. Up until a month ago, I was considering selling all of my EOS kit, and moving wholeheartedly to Nikon. However, the idea of strapping my 100-400L lens to this tiny camera, and taking a few moon photographs is quite appealing. I'm also quite curious about buying a manual lens adapter (perhaps from SRB Photographic here in the UK) and trying out my Voigtlander 35mm F1.7 lens. I think in zone focussing mode, with Auto ISO selected, it could be a great candid camera. In fact, did I mention the quiet shutter......
Sorry for the long post but - if it wasn't obvious so far - I think this camera is quite good!
Best regards
RoyM
