I got my negs back form my first roll of Fuji 6x9. Now That I fire up the scanner, I doubt the intelligence of purchasing the camera...

I've scanned 120 film before with this scanner, and it worked fine. Now, when I try to scan this stuff, it is worse than not working.

I can't even change the settings on the Epson software; can't turn off ICE, noise reduction, change the document size, ANYTHING! The previews are just a jumbled mess of pixels, and I can't change the document size beyond some ratio of 5:1 height to width. I have it set to scan 6x9, I have it set to BW film, 48-bit color scan, 2400 DPI, Pro Mode, etc... but nothing will work.

Does anybody have any experience with this scanner? I've used it before with some amount of success, but just changing settings, at this point, would be a moral victory.

I used mine for a few years. I was driving it with Vuescan though and I never had any issues at all.

Now the scanner won't even come up with a failed preview scan.

Got the thing refurbished from Epson and scanned 3 rolls of 120 with it a couple years ago, and the scans weren't great.

A downright disaster.

Are you sure you pulled the white insert out of the lid? Do you have the film holder placed exactly in the correct spot with nothing cover above or below the calibration gap at the top of the film holder? Have you completely unplugged the pigtail connector to the scanner lid and then fully reinserted it just to make sure to eliminate possible connection issues? Those are the most common reasons for the error you briefly described.

Yep, did all those.

Originally I was scanning with the white lid on there, but took it off and it fixed nothing. The biggest issue is not being able to change the dimensions of the scan-- even though it is set to 6x9, it won't let me change the dimensions. Very frustrating.

And I tried with Vuescan and couldn't even get the thing to scan. It just froze the program.

I'll have to take a 2 day long deep breathe and re-approach it on the weekend. :bang:
