I emailed the seller and asked if these would work with the Epson V600 and he replied that as far as he knew the channel sizes for the film in both scanners is identical - so the answer would be 'yes'.

If not too burdensome, would you mind posting a before and after? I would trust an RFFer's input much more than the examples provided by the manufacturer.

I just got one of the 120 ANR glass pieces mentioned below for 120 and gave it a quick test today. I did not have the time I needed to get really detailed but here is what I found so far.

I have the 35mm glass from Better Scanning and they are fine. They seem to be ever so slightly thicker than the new 120. BS seems to have a more rounded edge not that the new one is sharp or poses a problem. The glass is big enough and heavy enough to keep the 120 films flat. I scanned some film with the Epson software at 3200 (Zeiss Nettar 6x6 – 52MB ea) and one with Vuescan, (Fuji GF 670 – 6x7 is big) using Chris Crawfords notes at 6400. (Thanks, Chris.)

I took them into Photoshop and adjusted as needed. My conclusion is this…. They serve the purpose very well. Flat film and a really good scan. Definitely better than the Epson film holder alone. I blew up the negs in PS and I was really surprised at the detail. Recommended. A good solution without having to buy a new film holder.

I considered getting the Scan Assist product, but decided to go with the one mentioned in the initial post of this thread (from * bay seller "hi*tech*glass"). I'm waiting for their product to arrive in the mail (35mm and 120mm versions).

PLEASE NOTE: I mentioned the Scan Assist product when corresponding with the Alex from hi*tech*glass. He replied that he was aware of their product and would match their price for myself and any other RFF members. 😀

I'll be sure to repost after I receive the ANR glass and try some scans with it.

Any update for this? I've been thinking of getting a V700 but its lack of image quality kind of puts me off. But if this improves it, then I'll reconsider the V700.

Could somebody provide a comparison between 120 film mounted into filmholder + ANR glass and film on scanner glass plate + ANR glass? The optics used by the scanner will be different and therefore the specified resolution but I would be very interested into a real world comparison.

Whitecat - thanks for your notes. A quick question: did you have the emulsion side up or down? I find my 120 film bows up towards the shiny side so I will have to mount it emulsion facing the scanner glass if I use the ANR glass to flatten it.

ANR glass (from a cheap picture frame, cost: 5€) used for the second sample (and scanned without holder directly from the glass, emulsion side down). It's how I do all my scanning.
