Hi Jon,
Likewise really.

following is the list of what can be shared among the gang so you (and others) don't have to carry from Japan...(or other countries)

LTM old Nikkor's - 28, 35, 50/2 and 85 (just bring the M/LTM adapters if you have them)
S mount - CV 21, CV 28 , Nikkor 35/2.5, Nikkor 50/1.4 (black, not Mill), CV skopar 50/1.5 and 50 pancake 2.5, Nikkor 85, 105 and 135 Black - anymore S mount users?
F Mount - 17-35, 50/1.2
I have a "big" ThinkTank

Hope it helps....

I'm glad Gina is coming too, to carry them all... :)

now need to find some film... not much available on this side of Europa. :bang:

Here are some places you can find different films in Istanbul.

http://www.kristalfotograf.com/?sayfa=Iletisim

http://www.pamukticaret.com/anasayfa.asp

These two places are very close to eachother. But Kristal is on the way, but Pamuk is on first floor (second for some countries??) in a building. If you find Kristal, you can ask someone to Pamuk.

They have C-41, B&W and even slide films for both 35mm and 120 roll.

This information is for only those who will arrive before the meeting day :)

Hope you can find a solution...

By the way, there is on thing I just realized.. I hope you guys all aware that there are two different major airport in İstanbul. One is in Asia side (Sabiha Gökçen Airport) and one is in Europe side (Atatürk Airport).

As far as I understand, most of you will stay near Taksim and Beyoğlu. So if your flight is going to land to Asia side, you need to plan the transfer from airport to Taksim too. There is a shuttle service from airport called Havaş. You can find bus times in below link. The service is available from Atatürk Airport as well.

Thanks a lot.
If the Havaş bus station is easy to find at the asian side airport?

Ouch, bad luck Simon.

I fiddled my work-rosta to get an extra day, but now I'm looking nervously at my e-mail wondering if something will get cancelled for me too. Oops!

I'll stay in Hotel Grand Seref, Tarlabaşı Bulv. 109, Beyoğlu. 12/4 - 15/4. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Not decided yet: Which camera should I take on the trip? RB67 with 127mm, M4-P with Jupiter-8 or Contax 167MT with Planar 1.7/50?

Advices welcome:)

after two weeks of summer-ish sunshine it is actually snowing here right now. I'm looking forward to whatever weather we'll have in Istanbul because, no matter what, it's bound to be better than this.

I was sent back from the passport control to the visa desk actually, because I never bought a visa to Turkey before either. There were large signs up with tens of flags of countries that needed to buy visas. Including, I think, all EU countries. With my Dutch passport I never had to buy a visa before, but it looks like it's policy now. Cash cow mostly.

hmmm not true, not all Eu citizens. I was just in TUR 2 weeks ago and passed the border with no fees. I'm French.
