I am shooting my M-A with exactly that combo right now and have been for the past month. Albeit my lens is not a Leica lens but a nice little Voigtlander Color Skopar. Maybe I'll be able to afford a nice Leica Summicron 35 at some point in the near future but for now i make do. :D

Yeah, I saw your "Dear Diary" posts. Good combo and good luck!

John

Within the past 10 years: D-Lux 3 D-Lux 4 D-Lux 6.

More than 10 years ago: (OK, more than 20 years ago--make it 30-- OK, OK, it was in the 1960's): M2; 35mm Summaron; 90mm Elmarit. I still have them.

I forgot to say that in the late 1960s I also bought a new 35mm Summicron in Tucson, Arizona; and in Frankfort Germany I bought a Leica leather shoulder case. I still have everything but the shoulder case!

Close, so close! Almost bought a new M6 when the M6TTL came out. Hunt's in Providence was blowing out the Classic for $999.00! I hesitated just a little too long, and an opportunity for a new affordable (for me) M never came along again.
But I'm happy with my current M6 and M6TTL, both purchased near mint at great prices, back when everyone was unloading their "obsolete" film equipment. Those opportunities are past, as well.

A few months ago I bought a New 50/2 cron to go with the M-A.

If I were a reasonable person (but who is reasonable about their Leicas?), I would have to admit that kshapero's M-A/Summicron combo is all I should ever need. Pure, simple perfection!

I bought a new MP body as well as a new 50mm Summilux ASPH around the same time. It may have been a little longer than 10 years ago, come to think of it. Time has a way of speeding by.

A new digital M 7 years ago...2nd hand Leica lenses thereafter. Looking to buy a new m11s (24mp) if ever it will be made/released purely for iso improvements & colour (dual iso gain/BSI)
